“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes goes on to declare to us that there is a season to be born and to die, a time to plant and a time to reap, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time for everything!
Every homeschool mom knows that mid-May through June is planning time. A time to pray, a time to search, a time to discover what is new, a time to make decisions.
I have had local moms ask me how this homeschool journey all began. Where did I find books? Where did I look to know how to do this? Will I be able to educate my children and educate them well?
Yes, you will be able to educate your children and yes! they will be well educated! Who else on this earth has your child’s BEST interest at heart? Who else on this earth desires more than their own success the success of their students? No one but YOU! Absolutely, without a doubt YOU!
You will pray. You will talk to your husband. You will talk to your mom, your friends, your sisters, you will search those crazy, most definitely more organized women than you because they homeschool and YOU will find your way. God promises in HIS word that when we seek Him with our whole heart, He will be found. A friend gave me a card once, I think it was for my birthday and it had this scripture in it,
“I will teach all your children, and they will enjoy great peace. All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.”
And I have clung to that verse ever since! When I’m having a “day” I am reminded of God’s omnipotent words. After I have had a “moment” (did y’all see Mom’s Night Out? If so then you know what a “moment” is and if you didn’t than you in real life know what a “moment” is), I say His promising words to myself, “ALL my children shall be taught by the Lord and GREAT!!! shall be their peace”.
So in this planning season, remember that He who appointed you is truehearted and He will produce a straight path before you. And if it happens for you anything like it did for me, it will be one (faith) step at a time. When we start walking He starts straightening.
“A man’s heart plans his way but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.” Proverbs 16:9, Amplified Bible
