January – 3 in 30 Challenge

I am not one to make New Year’s Resolutions but I am one that likes goals that have a deadline! New Year’s Resolutions do not work for me and I think it is because there is a set date of completion so I decided to join again. Yes, I was a part of this challenge and yes I fell behind and allowed life to get too busy to set goals. But I’m picking myself back up, getting back into the saddle again and making setting my eyes on the prize.

Goal #1 – Loose 2lbs per week. This is doable using a 1200 calorie diet. I have successfully lost almost 20lbs so I know it is obtainable. I will use to track my calories. There’s even an app! Makes it super convenient and super easy because you scan most bar codes to enter your data and it even has most major restaurants in the database so you can check your meal before you order!

Goal #2 – Shower before starting anything else! I think I fell into the habit of just getting dressed without actually getting ready for the day when I had my first baby. You know you jump out of bed as soon as they cry to tend to their need then care for yourself when you have a minute, well my goal will be to get myself ready so I will have more to give everyone else. If I keep caring for everyone else before I am cared for, eventually there will be no more of me to give. Just please don’t ask me if I started this goal yet (blush with a hint of a sigh)!

Goal #3 – Read one book from cover to cover! I am really good at picking up a book and reading for a while then picking up another book then picking up another book and rarely do I finish any of them unless they a Francine Rivers’ book – those I have to finish!!!

So there you have it, my January 3 in 30 Challenge goals. Obtainable, yes. Doable yes, will I have the commitment and fortitude to see them through? Yes, by the grace of God and by me disciplining myself. I can do all through Christ who gives me strength! In Him all things are possible! I am starting out slow and steady because after all, it’s the tortoise who won the race.

  1. I am really bad at getting dressed and ready in the morning. I work from home so it seems easier to just stay in my comfy jammies till noon! haha I do feel better about myself when I actually take time for myself though. Good luck with these awesome goals!

    • Thanks for stoping by Deanna! I have not started getting up and ready yet. We are having a cold spell and this Florida girl is cold and the bathroom is the coldest room in the house. I know excuses, excuses, excuses. Hahahaha
